Product Description I was just a lost little girl forced to make it in a grown woman's world. A child turned out by the rulers of the game. When you get thrown into a snakepit you better learn how to wiggle! It's all about survival, baby. And not only did I learn the code of the streets, I made my own damn rules and got paid in the process. So listen close, but watch your pockets. I'm a Harlem girl. A scandalous chick. A ruthless mama. Me and this city are just alike. Grimy. And we never, ever sleep...It's a hard knock life for Saucy Sarita Robinson and the rules of the game are clear: get yours or get had. When her father gets popped in an armed robbery and her mother turns to drugs, Saucy is left to scratch out a life for herself on the streets of Harlem, and this city-slick vixen refuses to become a victim. Young, hot, and hungry for the spotlight, Saucy has a full package and uses her assets to get whatever she wants: 128th Street has its own rules, and she knows them well. With sex as her weapon of choice, Saucy hustles her way straight into the heart of the hip-hop underworld, preying upon any man -- or woman -- who might help her get ahead. But Hottt Saucy just can't get enough. Her calculating nature and insatiable appetite for power and prestige tempt her into dangerous waters, and before long she finds herself in too deep. The shot callers of the hip-hop world have a few tricks for Saucy -- a gutter plan to force her back onto the very streets that she came from. But Saucy refuses to go down easy. She plots her revenge against some of the most powerful playas in the music industry, never suspecting that her enemies will fight back...and fight back hard.

A MUST READ August 12, 2010 M.J. This book was good. I just got around to reading this book and I'm happy I did, because it didn't disappointment me. I'm a fan
3.5 Stars. Good! But short of Great February 1, 2010 BabyLuv89 (Bronx, New York) I like Noire & I like the way she writes. She's really gutter & gully with it. She's real in every aspect. Thats that New York style for ya ;) I liked the book. Did I love it? NO. Have I read better? YES. I loved G-spot so I went out and got Thong On Fire, but to me it fell short. It started off slow, picked up nicely in the middle & fell flat at the end. It didn't do it for me. Too much talk about the industry & the rappers..I know thats what the book was based on, but I just think too much time was put into those parts. Saucy was a real live crazy, in your face kind of chick. The ones who think they bad and got everything in the bag with their goodies. I'm glad this book shows that it takes more than that in life to succeed. I saw alittle of Saucy in me when I was younger. I grew up though & I'm nothing like I was. Saucy was just in too deep & lost! She was grimey though! Too grimey for her own good. Saucy was a ruthless chick who wouldn't stop at nothing if it didn't benefit her. At some points, I actually found myself rooting for Saucy! Grime & greed just drove her to the edge. I can't say I would recommend this book, but if you can get it for a good price, go for it. It wasn't a horrible read, I just felt it fell short. As always though, Noire keeps it gangsta with her writing & she always makes something big and grimey happen so I was diggin the book at most parts. Do your thing Noire!
Something I've read before January 27, 2010 C. Warner (Wadadli baby!) If you are familiar with teh novel Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah, parts of this book are going to give you a strange sense of Deja-vu. Seung Cee as her mother calls her, or Saucy the government name is the main character in this book.
She has alot in common with Winter (the main character in Coldest Winter Ever). She was abruptly taken from a life of luxury to life on the street, never knowing where the next meal was comming from, always planning a hustle.
Saucy will remind you of Karrine Steffan's Diary of a Video Vixen, with her metioric rise to fame, and her tell all of the fictional whose who in the hip hop industry.
These coincidences aside, this is a damn good read, but trust me, there is NO happy ending.
yes indeed January 9, 2010 linda patrick this book really was on point and the characters and image every chapter created was amazing...
nice read!
This Book Didn't Light Fire To My Thong December 13, 2009 Book Worm (CA, USA) Noire is an engaging writer, but the sexual encounters in this book did not light me up. I did enjoy reading about the protagnist's triumphs and pitfalls. However, Saucy uses her body to get what she wants, and this kind of story is becoming so commonplace in modern African-American novels.
This was my first Noire novel, and I'm not saying I'll never read other Noire novels, but I will say that this one just didn't do it for me.
