5 out of 5 stars Soft and Lazy...   September 16, 2007

Erotic Lounge: Deluxe Edition really delivers, and in my honest opinion, more so than the other volumes in the series. This is true, especially where the first disc is concerned, all the song are the very definition of smooth and each song is chilled to perfection. Whoever compiled this installment of the series really had their head in the right place, all the songs flow beautifully together without breaking the momentum.

All the songs from the "soft and lazy" disc really belong there, unlike the other installments in the series, which feature one or two songs that don't really belong, or interupt the mood. The highlights for me were Nao Vou Fugir by Ive Mendes, and the Afterlife remix of the Roger Sanchez track, Another Chance. All the songs make up the best installment in the erotic lounge series, as far as it being erotic, it truelly is a befitting soundtrack to those "special moments".

Disc 2, "Quick and Dirty", certainly does not fall behind, even though the songs featured are a bit more up beat. Even so, the songs follow the very same formula from disc 1, they flow beutifully without interupting the mood, except this disc is better suited for a more "active interaction".

Even though both discs are filled with songs that vary from chill/lounge to jazz and bossa, they all set the mood perfectly. This compilation will ensure you a beautiful experience no matter where you are or who you are with.

3 out of 5 stars The name says it all   January 28, 2007

The title pretty much says it all. This music is something that one would hear at a Starbucks, or at a Hollister clothing shop. It is also music to "get busy" to. However there is one song in the collection that is beyond cheezy. I am not sure of the title but there is a guy who sounds like a bootlegged Isaac Hayes, and he keeps on repeating this phrase:"The Quite Storm". Tim Meadows, anyone?

Overall it is a decent compliation for an intimate night for two.

3 out of 5 stars It's lounge but far from erotic.   June 22, 2006

When I was searching for some sensual music to play during intimate activities I came across the CDs entitled Erotic Lounge (there are four in this series). The covers, with pictures of women in partial undress, suggested these CDs would be the equivalent of aroma therapy for the ears. While it is good lounge music it is far from erotic. So if you plan to purchase any of the Erotic Lounge CDs expect some decent music for your next house party with just a few cuts penetrating into the bedroom music realm. Personally, I would recomment Venessa Daou (Zipless), Erotic Moods (The Very Best Of) or Esoterotica if you are looking to set an erotic mood.

5 out of 5 stars Erotic Lounge Definitely Delivers the Lounge ... Other Part of Title Up to You :-)   February 1, 2006

"Lounge" is a term often over-used in compilations these days. Some people wil slap that label on anything with a beat (that's not hard trance) or anything remotely soft (New Age/meditative or World music is NOT necessarily 'lounge' or 'chill.')

But in the case of this collection - they actually have labeled and named it correctly!

As for the "Erotic" portion, these CD's will definitely help with the right person(s) in the room ... just like listening to Barry White by yourself - in a blizzard - inside a Greyhound bus station in Fairbank, Alaska may not help you much, these CD's deliver on the promise of great 'lounge' music - the rest is up to you :-)

There are four in the series so far. They are all excellent with only a few tracks not up to par on each set so you can't really go wrong but there are differences.

EROTIC LOUNGE: The first is the softest of them all with lots of minimalist lounge. A perfect CD to end your evening or the first CD in the morning.

EROTIC LOUNGE - DELUXE EDITION: It's exactly what a 'lounge' CD should be - full of chill beats backed by light jazz beats or bossa nova-like beats. If anyone wants to know what 'lounge' should sound like - this CD pretty much encapsulates what it should be.

EROTIC LOUNGE - SENSUAL PASSION: Along with great 'lounge' tracks, they pick up a beat a bit with tracks that go into trance chill or trip hop - again, all tasteful, fun and aptly cool. On the slightly exotica tracks, they veer from bossa nova to light samba.

EROTIC LOUNGE - BARE JEWELS: This is the least lounge of the collection with most tracks really more trip hop, light trance or melodic acid jazz - nothing wrong with - still a great collection of tracks - just so you know exactly what you're getting.

So whatever the mood you want to set - from 'lounge' where you can easily converse over the instrumental tracks to tracks that will get you in the mood for a fun samba or tracks to lead to you to the bedroom - they're all here. Pick and choose or get them all - you can't go wrong with this series, so far, they're all great.

And hey, the CD cover alone is worth a star :-)

3 out of 5 stars Nice music, but not what's advertised   November 18, 2004

Erotic Lounge: They're half right. It's lounge music, but I wouldn't describe it as erotic. This is a nice collection of mostly instrumental, jazzy lounge music. The only problem is that they've packaged it is as being sensual and erotic. One disc is called Quick and Dirty, while the other is Slow and Lazy. Combine this with the softcore pic on the cover of a lady's legs, high heels and undies coming off, and the message is clear. But when I put the CDs in, it just seemed like your average lounge music with lots of drum machine and synthesizer tracks. And the Quick and Dirty disc is neither quick or dirty. I wouldn't call it sexually charged at all.

It's a nice collection of mostly instrumental music, but was packaged and marketed incorrectly in my opinion.
